Challenges of existing design
- Bookings on HousingAnywhere are not instant. Landlords check the tenant details before accepting them as their tenant.
- The conversations page doesn’t look like a conventional conversations UI.
- CTAs take more space and doesn’t allow user to read or write a message.
- Text area to write a message is below the fold and difficult to spot.
- Users find it difficult to distinguish various stages of a booking process.
Inspiration
Before visualising the UI, I looked around for inspiration from various platforms which combine conversations and transactions.
