Payments were not clear. With the help of research and experimentation I designed a solution to make conversations obvious on HousingAnywhere.

Challenges of existing design

  1. Bookings on HousingAnywhere are not instant. Landlords check the tenant details before accepting them as their tenant.
  2. The conversations page doesn’t look like a conventional conversations UI.
  3. CTAs take more space and doesn’t allow user to read or write a message.
  4. Text area to write a message is below the fold and difficult to spot.
  5. Users find it difficult to distinguish various stages of a booking process.

Before visualising the UI, I looked around for inspiration from various platforms which combine conversations and transactions.
